Behavioral Health – Clinician I or II

Summary of Job Functions:
The Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for providing Therapeutic to Mental Health Services individuals who experience severe emotional disturbance, serious mental illness, and/or intellectual developmental disabilities. The Clinician may also provide some clinical consultation and training.
(For Clinician I):
This position works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. This position is for a clinician actively (preferably) working towards obtaining LPC/LCSW licensure within two years of the start of this job. This position also prefers someone actively working towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
(For Clinician II):
This position works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor. This position is for a clinician who has a current LPC/LCSW licensure. This position also holds or is currently actively working towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
Essential Job Functions:
- Completes comprehensive intake assessments including yearly updates within the program.
- Develops and monitors the implementation of Individualized Treatment Plans.
- Provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
- Provides written documentation on all contacts with individuals or groups.
- Participates in treatment team/case review meetings for Behavioral Health program.
- Attends all required agency training.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Current knowledge of DSM-5 TR, chemical dependency, Medicaid regulations, DHSS, and BHS service principles and agency policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree with a preferred concentration of study in counseling, social work, and psychology.
- Minimum of three years experience in the social services field and a minimum of two years experience counseling adults and children who experience emotional disturbance, mental illness, and/or developmental disabilities. Prefer credentials in substance abuse.
- LPC/LCSW required. (For Clinician II)
Required Licenses, Clearances & Training:
- Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
- Current TB test/clearance
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Clean driving record
- Pass mandatory agency training (i.e., CPR, Mandt, Programs)
- LPC/LCSW or other professional licensure is required. (For Clinician II)

We are looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor (CDC1/CDC2)
The Substance Abuse Counselor will provide counsel and support to patients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency, educate families on the best ways to help in the recovery process, and work with both inpatient clients and those participating in outpatient programs.
- Maintains case files and status reports. Adapts treatment programs in response to observations.
- Assist patients in dealing with family issues and propose social services as assistance for the whole family.
Required Skills:
- An empathetic approach to dealing with customers who may have many cases.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in psychology, sociology, or public health is required.
- Specific training in alcohol and drug abuse counseling.
- At least two years of experience working with drug or alcohol abusers under close supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged durations of sitting at a desk doing computer work.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Meets with customers to learn about their personal details and medical history and interacts with other experts to understand the patient’s condition and the scope of their issues.
- Creates a treatment and rehabilitation plan based on the understanding of alcohol and drug dependence, counseling techniques, and the patient’s unique condition.
- Meets with family members to inform them of their potential responsibilities in the healing process.
- Teach patients about community-based groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, as well as social and employment programs that may assist them in returning to productive positions in the community.
- Maintains case files and status reports. Adapts treatment plans in response to observations.
- Assists patients in dealing with family issues and suggests social services as assistance for the whole family.

A Master’s Level Mental Health Clinician is being sought to join our team.
We are looking for someone that is emotionally stable, has good taste, is entertaining, and can work with youth and families.
Requirements:
- A master’s degree in psychology, social work, guidance and counseling, behavioral sciences, or a closely related social science is required, in addition to experience.
- MUST be able to pass a background check
Function:
- Offer family, group, and individual counseling.
- Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment.
- Completes a thorough Behavioral Health Assessment (BHA) and keeps up-to-date knowledge of available options for mental health.
- Create and deliver relevant groups on mental health for local youth and their families.
